It's already almost a week into this brand new year, and to start the year off on a great bookish note there is the upcoming Lifeline Bookfest in Brisbane starting on the 14th. It's going to be fun and filled with new books to add to your collection!
I don't know about you, but I will be there extra early to line up...hey, the early bird and all that.
It's a great venue at the Brisbane Convention Centre which is near enough to fabulous coffee shops and cafe's on Melbourne Street, for an extra boost when you start to flag. Make a day of it :) Or if you are local, make it a daily trip, it runs to 26th, who knows what you may unearth.
Being a huge fan of children's books and sci-fi ( I know !!!!!) I am hoping to complete sets and find old favourites. In the sci-fi genre, I hope to discover some new -to me, at least- great authors; as, sadly, nearly all my fav's are no longer with us. Any recommendations??
Children's books? Well, if it has wonderful illustrations I am usually sold. It would be fabulous to complete my Noddy collection, Series of Unfortunate Events 1st edition collection - hey, I became a fan AFTER the series had finished - find a few Rupert annuals, Pookie books, etc etc etc
